Freon-Based Appliance Fee Increase Announced

Capital Region Service Commission has announced a fee increase for proper disposal of appliances containing Freon gas. The rate is now $32 per unit, plus HST ($36.80). Residents Asked to Flatten Cardboard for Recycling Collection

Residents using their grey boxes for recycling collection are asked to flatten any cardboard product that does not easily fit inside the curbside container. The grey box is designed for paper and cardboard recycling, but those who collect the items face obstacles with large quantities of cardboard that is not broken down for easier access.
